about infrared heat
If you're new to infrared heated workouts, you've come to the right place. At SOL you will experience a specialised form of heat that goes beyond traditional hot yoga.

How it works
Unlike the forced hot air used in most other studios, infrared heat is made up of invisible waves of energy emitted from specialised panels. This kind of heat penetrates beyond the skin, reaching your internal organs.
As those waves are absorbed, molecules begin to vibrate, helping flush and release stored toxins, fat and impurities from your cells into the bloodstream. Those waste products then leave the body as sweat.
The result is a full body detox at a cellular level.
The benefits
Metabolic health
Research has shown infrared heat can increase calorie expenditure by more than 30%, promoting a faster metabolism for easier weight loss or maintenance.
Stress + anxiety
As circulation increases and stored toxins are released, there is less stress on internal organs, which relieves tension in the mind, the muscles and the joints.
Younger looking skin
We lose collagen and elastin as we age. Research shows infrared energy can stimulate production of both, lessening the appearance of wrinkles and sagging.
Detoxification
Sweating is your body's natural cleanser. It also supports organs like the kidney and liver for better functioning and longevity.
Muscle + joint motion
Muscles and joints heal faster from injury and inflammation and move more freely. It is why physical therapists use infrared for chronic ailments.
Deeper sweat, easier air
Because the heat works on you rather than the room, the air stays more breathable than a conventional hot studio at the same intensity.
Preparing for the heat
- Hydrate before, during and after class, with electrolytes added to your water.
- Breathe with control and focus, and go at your own pace.
- Wear sweat-friendly, comfortable clothing.
- If it feels like too much, that is completely okay. Take a break, sit down, and rejoin when you are ready.
- Bring a towel. You will want it.
If you are pregnant, managing a heart condition, or have any medical concern about heat, please speak with your doctor first and let the front desk know when you arrive.
