frequently asked

If you're new to yoga and have questions, we're here to help. If yours isn't answered here, call the studio and a real person will pick up.

Before your first class

How do I sign up for classes?

To reserve a spot on our class schedule you will need to create an online profile. This becomes your account going forward, used to purchase classes, make reservations and keep track of payments. Head to the schedule and you will be prompted to either set up an account or log in. Once set up, you are ready to purchase and reserve. Classes fill up, so we recommend reserving in advance - it also saves time when you arrive.

What should I bring to my first class?

A bottle of water, a towel and a yoga mat. If you do not have these, not to worry - we have mats and towels available to rent as well as purchase in our boutiques.

What is a good first class to try?

If you are new to yoga we recommend starting with SOL FLOW. Connecting movement and breath, this all-levels vinyasa class is for those seeking the traditional foundations of yoga, with sequences and poses to awaken and invigorate every muscle in your body. You will leave feeling stretched, strengthened and relaxed.

What is the no-show and cancellation fee?

If you are unable to make it to class, please call our concierge team and let them know as soon as possible. If you do not cancel 12 hours before, whether by phone or online, your account will be charged $25.00.

What is the late and waitlist policy?

As many of our classes fill up quickly, we encourage you to pre-register either on our website or via our free mobile app. Doing so guarantees your spot. That said, you must show up at least 5 minutes before start time or you may lose your spot to another person on the waitlist. If you cannot make it, please do not forget to cancel - failure to cancel a pre-registered class 12 hours in advance costs $25.00.

Why is the studio heated, and will that make class harder?

We use infrared heat to warm our studios as it is proven to go the deepest into muscles and joints, providing gentle, effective detoxification. For most classes the studio is heated to between 90 and 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Unlike traditional hot yoga, infrared heat is not blasted from a vent but penetrates the room via heated panels. It lets you stretch your muscle fibres and tendons and avoid injury, while increasing circulation, boosting your immune system and burning more calories. If you are new to infrared, arrive hydrated, drink water during class if you need it, and go at your own pace. Read more about infrared heat.

Do I have to be flexible to do yoga?

No. While flexibility is a component of yoga, you do not have to be flexible to practice it. As you do more yoga you will naturally become more able to move and open your body in new ways, which is beneficial for bodies of all sizes, shapes and athleticism levels. And along with physical flexibility, yoga helps your mental flexibility too - you will be better equipped to focus and breathe your way through everyday challenges like deadlines, traffic or social media overload.

How often should I practice?

As often as you can is ideal, but everyone's schedule is different. To really experience yoga's benefits, two to three days a week can be sufficient. On its own, or complementing other workouts such as strength training or running, with dedicated practice you will see and feel the benefits.

What are the benefits of yoga?

Along with increasing flexibility, strength and focus, a regular practice of at least three times a week has been shown to improve symptoms of many chronic conditions such as arthritis, diabetes and thyroid disorders. It goes beyond the mat too - yoga helps us become more at ease with life's challenges and gives us a sense of calm we can call on in stressful situations.

What is the dress code?

We love seeing everyone show up ready to move. To keep our space welcoming and respectful, please wear proper athletic attire - leggings, yoga or fitness shorts, tanks or tops that let you move freely and comfortably. For everyone's comfort, underwear worn as outerwear, see-through clothing and shirtless practice are not permitted.

Can I bring my bag or phone into the studio?

To respect the privacy of others, we recommend you store your phone and belongings in a locker outside the studio.
